Cisco CCIE Collaboration 400-051 Written and Lab Exam v2.0 Update

Cisco recently announced changes to CCIE Collaboration track in the form of V2.0 major update. If you recall, in its current format, CCIE Collaboration exam consists of the following eight sections (in addition to Evolving Technologies which had its own revision to v1.1).

V1.0 Sections (8)

  • Cisco Collaboration Infrastructure
  • Telephony Standards and Protocols
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
  • Cisco IOS UC Apppcations and Features
  • Quapty of Service and Security in Cisco Collaboration Solutions
  • Cisco Unity Connection
  • Cisco Unified Contact Center Express
  • Cisco Unified IM and Presence

Cisco dubbed this update as a major update which means that scope of content changes are of the order of 50%+. If you compare V2.0 with V1.0, you can notice that Cisco as opted for more solution-centric approach as opposed to product centric. In the era of Amazon and Google out with solid UC offerings, Cisco has rightfully flattened the stack so to speak and gone for what matters to the end customer i.e. solution.
